FAQ
Q: How long will a 100Ah battery last?
The amount of time your applications will run depends on the battery's energy (Wh) and the application's power. You can calculate it using this formula:
Run Time (hours) = Battery energy (Wh) / power (W).
For example, If your load power is 100W and you have a 100Ah battery(1280Wh), the calculation would be:
Run Time = 1280Ah / 100W= 12.8 hours, which is approximately 12 hour and 48 minutes.
So, with a 100Ah battery, your 100W application will run for about 12 hour and 48 minutes.
Q: What will be the maximum charging current for the 100Ah battery? Can l connect it in series to my existing SLA battery?
Our 12V 100Ah batteries have a maximum charge current of 100A. But we usually recommend charging the batteries at a charge multiplier of 0.2C, which is 20A.
We do not recommend connecting batteries of different brands and models in series and parallel. Because each brand of the battery cell is different, the nominal voltage and capacity is not the same, it will lead to voltage imbalance, which will produce a potential safety hazard.
Q: Would I only need one 12v200Ah battery or two 12v 100Ah?
Two 12V 100Ah batteries in parallel and a single 12V 200Ah battery have the same capacity. However using only one battery in the system will make for better consistency and more stable performance, and use less wire, and be smaller in size.
Q: ls it okay to install the Redodo batteries on their side (label up/down) for use in an array in an RV?
Redodo 12V 100Ah battery can support side placement, just make sure the back and top of the battery are not placed facing down.
Q: I have 12.8v 100ah being used in an out-uninsulated building temp. Could get 0- -20f for about 2/3 days?
The recommended operating temperature of our 12V 100Ah battery is:
Charge: 0℃ to 50℃ / 32℉ to 122℉
Discharge: -20℃ to 60℃ / -4℉ to 140℉
Storage: -10℃ to 50℃ / 14℉ to 122℉
The battery can be discharged at 32°F, but we do not recommend charging the battery.
Q: Will 2 of these operate 24volt trolling motor in series?
Many of our customers use 2 of Redodo 12V(12.8V) 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries connecting in series for their 24V trolling motor, and it works well. But it is also depends on the power of the trolling motor. One of our Redodo 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries could support 100A max. continuous charge/discharge current, 1280W max. load power, and 1280Wh max. energy. Connecting two of Redodo 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries in series will build a 24V(25.6V) 100Ah battery system, which could support 100A max. continuous charge/discharge current, 2560W max. load power, and 2560Wh max. energy. To help you analyze and solve your question about the batteries more specifically, we welcome you to contact us on service@redodopower.com, and we will help you with an in-depth analysis according to your detailed information.
Q: Can you charge 2 batteries hooked is series with just 1 charger at the same time?
Yes, 1 charger could works for 2pcs 12V(12.8V) 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries which connected in series. One 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery built-in 100A BMS, which could support 100A max. continuous charge/discharge current, 1280W max. continuous load power, and 1280Wh max. energy. Connected 2pcs of those 100Ah batteries in series will build a 24V(25.6V) 100Ah battery system, which could support 100A max. continuous charge/discharge current, 2560W max. continuous load power, and 2560Wh max. energy. Regarding the charger for the 24V 100Ah battery system, we recommend a dedicated LiFePO4 battery charger, the DC charging voltage should be between 28.4V~29.2V and charging current less than 100A (usually, we recommend the current of 0.2C, which means 20A, and it will take around 5hrs to fully charge the battery system). 2)Here are two steps are necessary in order to reduce the voltage difference between batteries before connection, and through these, the battery system can perform the best of it in series or/ and in parallel. Step① fully charge your batteries separately. Step② connect your batteries one by one in parallel, and leave them together for 12~24hrs. And then, you can connect your batteries in series or/ and in parallel to build your own battery system. BTW, for charging one 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery, we recommend a dedicated LiFePO4 battery charger, the DC charging voltage should be between 14.2V~14.6V and charging current less than 100A. To help you analyze and optimize your battery system precisely, we welcome you to contact us on service@redodopower.com, and we will help you with an in-depth analysis according to your detailed information.
Q: Can l connect 6 12v lifepo4 100ah in series to make 24v 300ah ?
Yes, for Redodo 12V(12.8V) 100Ah LiFePO4 battery, you can connect 6 batteries to make a 3P2S (P refers to Parallel and S refers to Series) battery system of 24V(25.6V) 300Ah. One Redodo 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery built-in 100A BMS, which could support 100A max. continuous charge/discharge current, 1280W max. continuous load power, and has max. 1280Wh energy. The 3P2S battery system of 24V(25.6V) 300Ah could support 300A max. continuous charge/discharge current, 7680W max. continuous load power, and has max. 7680Wh energy.
